Cairns Along the Journey
God shows himself to us—do we recognize Him? He’s in the conversation about eternity with your elderly parent. He’s the otter who swims close enough for you to touch. He’s your disciple who ministers to your need, not the other way around. He’s everywhere…do you see Him?
When we abide in Him he delights in us and desires to show himself to us. While reading His word, the verses seem to apply so specifically to our current circumstances. This is proof of the Living Word of the Bible. It’s alive, it’s timeless, it’s God building our relationship with Him.
It happens so often that it can no longer be pushed aside, nor considered coincidence. It pulls at our conscience and calls our name. It’s our Heavenly Father speaking to us. “Trust in Me,” he says. How could we do any less?
With each step, a cairn is built: a guidepost of trust in our relationship with the Lord. And as we Journey forth into the will of God, we can look back to see that He was always with us; He will never leave us. He’s holding out His hand to us, saying, “Trust Me.” Take hold, dear friend. Even as darkness surrounds you, look to the light and join God on the journey that is His great and wonderful plan for your life.
